Join us for an evening with Rev. Gary Mason, one of the world's leading practitioners of peace building and reconciliation. Having served for decades in Belfast, Northern Ireland, during and after The Troubles, Gary has worked with former paramilitaries, political leaders, churches, and communities to help heal the wounds of conflict and build a more hopeful future.

Drawing on his experience in Northern Ireland and his work around the world, Gary will explore what

Scripture teaches about peacemaking, forgiveness, and reconciliation in deeply divided societies. Together we'll consider how Christians can resist the pull of fear and tribalism, become agents of peace in their communities, and bear faithful witness to the reconciling work of Christ in an increasingly polarized world.

Dinner is included with your registration.

About The Big Idea.
The Big Idea is a series of live theological conversations designed to help Christians think deeply and faithfully about the questions shaping the church today.

Each gathering will feature leading theologians, biblical scholars, pastors, and practitioners from around the country as they explore a significant theological topic through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and audience Q&A.

Rather than offering quick answers, The Big Idea seeks to cultivate wisdom, curiosity, and faithful discipleship by creating space for thoughtful engagement with Scripture, Christian tradition, and the challenges facing the church today.

Hosted at Desert Springs Bible Church, these evenings are designed for anyone who wants to love God with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind.

Childcare is available for children through 6th grade. If you will need childcare, please register each child at least 48 hours before the event.
