City Wide Gathering w/David Fitch

History is clear: Whenever the church has aligned itself with worldly, coercive power, it ends up on the wrong side of important justice issues.

But when the church cooperates with God's power through his presence among the least powerful, its witness for Jesus transforms the world into a better place.

We can’t wait to see you at this special event.

Lunch is provided.

Phoenix Refugee Connections: Summer Book Club

Journey with us as we read this true story of endurance, hope, doubt, and sacrifice amidst the turmoil of the Second Congo War

This riveting book tells the story of young Bikonzi Moise: alongside his mother and six siblings, Bikonzi is ripped from his home and forced into a concentration camp in the middle of the Second Congo War. Through unyielding hope, unimaginable sacrifice, and the wrestling with God amidst deafening silence, this unforgettable story will leave you breathless and inspired.

Now residing here in Phoenix, Bikonzi Moise's story is not just a testament to survival --it's a beacon of the human spirit's capacity to overcome adversity and find light even in the darkest of times.

About the author: Reverend Clint Leavitt is a good friend of Bikonzi Moise. He is a pastor, writer, and film enthusiast passionate about exploring faith, doubt, and the human condition. He serves in urban Phoenix, where he helps foster missional communities. His work engages the spiritually curious, drawing from Scripture, culture, and storytelling to offer a deeper paradigm of hope.

3 ONLINE SESSIONS:

6/24 - 7/8 - 7/22

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Including a discussion with

Bikonzi Moise and the author!

This workshop invites you to step into a faith-driven conversation on reimagining justice—one that reflects redemption over retribution, restoration over punishment, and the heart of God’s Kingdom over human systems. Share & Care Group Gathering: Special Guest, Daniel Yang

These Share & Care gatherings are the heart of the Phoenix Refugee Connections network and occur regularly at locations rotating around the valley. All are welcome.

We are honored to have special guest, Daniel Yang, join us. It'll be an encouraging time for our network to hear from a national leader in refugee resettlement, pray together, know that we are only a small part of a national (and global!) network of Christians responding to God's call to care for the foreigner, the orphan, the widow and the poor.

About our special guest:

Daniel Yang is the National Director of Churches of Welcome at World Relief. Previously he served as the director of the Church Multiplication Institute at the Wheaton College Billy Graham Center, a think tank for evangelism and church planting. He has pastored and helped plant churches in Detroit, Dallas-Fort Worth, Toronto, and Chicago. He is the co-author of "Inalienable: How Marginalized Kingdom Voices Can Help Save the American Church" with Eric Costanzo and Matthew Soerens, and "Becoming a Future-Ready Church: 8 Shifts to Encourage and Empower the Next Generation of Leaders" with Adelle Banks and Warren Bird.
